Can you think of drawbacks that healthcare organizations face when using cloud-based technology?
Cloud computing, which is also known as hosted virtual desktop application hosting, offers a variety of options when applied to the healthcare industry. One of the biggest advantages is the cost savings it can provide, over attempting to maintain your own internal system of network servers, data storage, backups, and upgrades. Remote desktop service plans can include updates, upgrades for both hardware and software application, and data backups.
Disadvantages of cloud computing on healthcare industry are follows:
* Sensitive Informations
When it comes to the medical and health care industries, a lot of sensitive and personal information is being conveyed across the network. Not only are social security numbers and even credit card information at risk, but a person’s medical details could be compromised. These issues result if an unauthorized party is able to access the network.it’s a large problem when someone else is able to find out this information about the person. On top of the privacy problems, the hospital or office could wind up with some legal issues if they are responsible for leaking private information or having an unsecured system that does so.
* Technological Problems
Just like any other piece of technology,we could wind up having
problems with cloud computing system at work. Unfortunately, when
the cloud breaks down, we lose everything. It’s not as though only
one component is not functioning; it will not have the ability to
engage in many of normal day-to-day activities. Therefore, it is
necessary to have some sort of backup plan in place, so it is
possible to access your information. Since need to have a backup
plan, might decide that it is not worth it to pay for any new
equipment or software. The medical field is such a serious one, and
you do not want to mess around with it.
Clearly, cloud computing has a lot of benefits and drawbacks for people working in the health care field. Remember, you need to consider your specific industry in which you are working before making the decision as to whether or not this is the program for you.
