theory and then trace the history of psychodynamic family therapy.

Psychodynamic therapy is based on the idea that behavioral problem is associated with unconsciousness which needs to be resolved for effective treatment. The three pioneer of psychodynamic therapy are Sigmund Freud , Alfred Adler and Carl Jung.
Freud gave psychological analytical theory which formed the base of psychology dynamic . Biggest contribution of Freud was concept of unconsciousness that is still an important part of psychodynamic therapy.
Alfred Adler focused on uniqueness of individual , where every I did usual has different traits so no one can theory describe all person. He did not saw his clients as combination of I'd who superego but looked at them in their social context and devise therapy accordingly taking into account the personality , motivation and superiority Inferiority complex. Adler became most influential person in feild of psychology specially in psychodynamic therapy as he was first to challenge Freud.
Carl jung gave theory ofof Collecti Unconscious, which include concept of archetypes, synchronicity that is used within the therapeutic process . His psychodynamic therapy is considered more eclectic than Adler and Freud.
Family therapy means treating two or more member of family at a time for treating the client behavior. Can't therapy is rooted in Adler's individual psychology where client was treated in their social context.
