Why do you think it is hard for a third party victory in the US?
What is your opinion on the current plurality rules system?
Will approval voting cause a more diverse party system?
Is the current election system controlled by a duopoly?
Why does the approval voting system choose a more consensus winner? Does the approval voting system solve the problem of vote-splitting?
It tough for third party as us mainly dominated by two parties always and third party may be support in alliance.these two parties has historical ,emotional ,economically ,social outrich, digitallly etc Have deeper root and impact on people than any other.
Plurality rules system: this system is more democratic as this allowed many candidate to participate in the election and increase competition as candidate not required 50%above of total votes but only more than nearest competitive candidate. This allow to participate all race ,cast, gender peoples.
Approval voting system required approval of voters.voter can give approval for any number of candidate. Which candidate get most approval is elected as winning candidate. Yes this type of voting system allows diversity to part in election as candidate as it, s required approval. But most popular or famous candidate chance of winning is high as without knowing his candidature if he or she Is capable enough or not. Suppose anyone is not good in politics but highly famous than after winning election, it is possibly misuse of human resources .
Yes it looks like duopoly as two parties always dominate in each and every election in USA. Third party is rarely win an election like theodar Roosevelt. It because these two parties have strong base or roots as organization, historical, economically social outrich , technically or social media etc.
