1. What stops the doubt of the First Meditation? What kind of reasoning supports the cogito?
What stops the doubt of the “first meditation” is the realisation that one has being living off of false beliefs and notions all throughout their lives. They have developed a rather superficial and false sense of “being”.Upon realising so, they resolve to wipe out/erase all that they have known up till now and start over again by reallocating and reassessing their initial, fundamental thoughts and views, thus building more stern and certain views and thoughts. They realise that sometimes, even the simplest of things are complicated due to our inhibitions and insecurities. This stage is only experienced by ine when he/she is ready to accept the harsh truth that the illusion created by himself is purely delusional and imaginary. They then begin to realise that anything can be doubted, be it the existence of others around him or the most basic, neutral thoughts ingrained in their minds. These are the skeptical doubts one faces during the first meditation.
