With an increase in the population number and diversity, the demand for healthcare access and patient-centered care are also increased. Leadership and management are needed to deliver optimal health care as it ensures timely care delivery, achieving health reform objectives, improving the system performance, integrity and efficiency. Leaders and other all other employees must orient their behavior and performance towards the values of the organization instead of their personal interests for the success of an organization. Presenting new strategies to the administration requires the evidence-based data, fullest knowledge, confidence, and plan for implementing the strategy. Implementing the strategy without disturbing the hospital's regular functions is important.

The factors affecting leadership include,

  • Ability to create and maintain a positive work environment where the employees can accept the challenges and implement new strategies to improve the quality of healthcare
  • Ability to encourage the creative thinking among the group members, which is essential for problem-solving, especially during the emergency situations
