Ans. Circulatory system.

The circulatory system comprises of an extensive network of three independent system which work together. These are the heart lungs and the arteries, veins, coronary and portal vessels. The system is responsible for the transfer of blood, nutrients, oxygen and other gases. The network of veins, arteries and blood vessels transports oxygenated blood frpm the heart, delivers oxygen and nutrients to the body cells and then returns the deoxygenated blood back to the heart. Apart from supplying blood this system also provides necessary nutrients and the hormones to the required organs. It also plays a vital role in removal of the waste products.

Heart is the main component of the circulatory system. It is made up of specialised cardiac muslces It is divided into four chambers with an atrium and ventricle on each side. Atria recieves blood and ventricles pumps it. The human circulatory system comprises of network of circuits. Pulmonary circuits provide blood flow between heart and lungs. Systemic circuit allows blood to flow to and from the rest of the body. Coronary circuit strictly provides blood to the heart.

Blood vessels play a crucial role in pumping the blood from the heart throughout the body. The arteries carry oxygenated blood apart from the pulmonary arterie whereas the veins carry deoxygenated blood except the pulmonary vein which carry oxygenated blood.

Lungs provides the necessary oxygen to the body for the formation of oxygenated blood and transfers it to the rest of the body in cordination with the heart. The deoxygenated blood passes through the lungs and toxic waste products are released with the help of lungs.

The circulatory system is involved in maintaining the process of body temperature regulation. It removes the toxic product from the body. The system is also involved in the process of disease protection and healing.
