Answer- Outsourcing refers to the process where company’s handover their non core and sometimes core activities to a company which can do that work efficiently. This is also sometimes called offshoring and is quite a commin process for many companies. Following are some of the jobs that have been outsourced-
• Nurses job- In the recent time where the medical sector has been hrowing so much and the number of patients are on a rise. The job of nurses where they read reports and help in the administrative department of the hospital has risen. Since the job of doctors and surgeons can definitely not be outsourced thus the only job that can be outsourced is that of nurses.
• People working in call centres- Due to cheap labor available in different regions and also where thay can speak english fluently, the job of call centres are outsourced. There the job of non core activities are handled as per the company policies and thus is really efficient for the company.
• R&D is another area that has been outsourced. Since the R&D department requires different office space and setup and other equipments as per the needs thus, companies prefer it outsourcing where they can use the technical know how pf people and ise it in their companies products.
• Manufacturing- When companies find it difficult and not profitable to manufacture their products then the company outsources such products to be manufactured at different locations. This is generally done where the availability of raw matetials is cheaper and workforce is also available.
On the contrary there are a few jobs that cannot be outsourced, which are as follows-
• Doctors and surgeons- Since patients require their doctor to be present in person with them when dealing with their problem thus, such a job cannot be outsourced. Also, a surgeon can perform surgery only when he is in person.
• Lawyers- People don’t want their legal matters to be discussed with a third oarty thus they don’t generally outsource lawyers. This also helps the company in maintaining the confidentiality level in the company and with their data and information.
• A mechanic in Automotive sector- The job of a mechanic is to analyse the fault in the vehicle and then to correct it. Such a job requires to be present on the job and thus, outsourcing is not possible.
