Evidence based practice involves using all of the resources available and implmenting those into healthcare to guarantee best possible patient outcomes.This means basing clinical judgements on pwtient preference and the most relevant or current evidence. Patient outcomes are central to evidence based practice.They were supposed to be the goal in a hospital setting as well,but sometimes things get a little lost along the way.EBP has been recogniseda as a key factor in helathcare;

• Improving the patient experience of care including quality and satisfaction.
• Improving the health of populations.
• Reducing the per capita cost of healthcare.

But there are also some barriers like;

• Inadequate knowledge and skills in EBP by nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Lack of cultures and environment that support EBP
• Misperceptions that EBP takes too much time.
• Outdated organisational politics and policies.
