When an adopted child grows up,he or she develop positive sense of their identity ,a sense of psychological well being.They develop a self concept and self esteem.Finally they learn to be comfortable with themseklves .Adoption make normal child hood issues of attachment ,loss and self image even more complex.Adopted children must come to terms with and integrate both their birth and adoption families.A child adoppted as infants are affected by adoption through out their life.Child adopted later in life come to understand adoption during a different developmental stage.Those who have experienced trauma or neglect may remember such ecxperiences.which further complicates their self image .transacial,cross cultural and special needs issues also affect a childs adoption experience.All adopted childeren greive the loss of their biologial family ,their heritage and their culture to some extent.Adoptive parents can facilitate and assist this natural grieving process by being comfortable with usin adoption language .i.e birth parents and bith family and discussing adoption issues.

Adoption children tend to have similar religious and political beliefs ,manners,and values as their adopted parents.
