The chapter metiones acitve-passive clustering configurations. Define what that is, and why would you use it.
Active- Passive:
Active Passive Cluster. It consist of two nodes at
least not all nodes are active in this cluster that's why it's
active-passive. If one node is active then other should be passive
or on standby. Passive server is also called as Fall over server.
It is basically a backup of the active server it takes over the
active server when the active server aka is primary server
disconnects or isn't able to serve. No matter how many clients are
there all must be connected to a same server. In active passive
configuration it is important that both server should be of same
size if one server makes changes then on the second server these
changes must be reflected this will help us to make sure clients on
this server doesn't know any difference.
The main use of this clustering is to have a backup of the server all time ready if the active one fails.
