Discuss the difference between food borne illness and food poisoning. Provide an example of each and discuss the mode of transmission, signs and symptoms, treatment, and prognosis. What education would the nurse provide on prevention?
*** Food borne illness v/s Food poisoning = Food borne illness is a specific type of illness caused by eating contaminated food and after eating harmfull bacteria and other pathogens although Food poisonong is subset type of food borne illness after ingestion of contaminated food.
# In the Food borne illness patient may get sick within minutes to developing symptoms several weeks later after contamination although Food poisonong usually get sick with 60 minute after eating contaminated food.
Example of food borne illnes = Food borne botulism The harmful bacteria thrive and produce the toxin in environments with little oxygen, such as in home-canned food.
Mode of transmission = food borne illness and food poisoning are mainly spread by contaminated food via feco oral route.
* Sign and Symptoms of Food borne illness = Nausea , Vomiting, Stomach cramps, Diarrhoea , Fever, Flu like symptoms.Difficulty swallowing or speaking Dry mouth Facial weakness on both sides of the face.
* Sign and Symptoms of Food poisoning = Numbness and tingling of the face, arm & legs . Headache , diziness and nausea, severe poisoning may cause muscle paralysis and respiratory failure.
* Treatment of food illness and food posioning = There is no specific treatment for food posioning and illness. At this time it is important to drink plenty of fluids as diarrhoea or vomiting can lead to dehydration and you can lose important sugars and minerals from your body. Privide Iv therapy to patient for maintain hydration and imbalance electrolytes.
Provide analgesic tablets and antiemetics tablets .
Provide Fruit juice and coconut water.
Provide adequate rest.

# Nurse will give advise to patient for take plenty of fluid for prevent dehydration.
# Nurse will give advise to patient for maintain standard hygeine .
# Nurse advise to patient to avoide food which made in hotel and crowded places.
# Nurse advise to patient to take proper ripe food.
# Nurse advise to pattient to take juice and coconut water .
# Avoide raw, unwashed fruits and vegetables.
# Nurse advise to patient -Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds before and after handling food.
# Nurse advise to patient to avoide Uncooked meat, poultry, and fish should never share a plate with other foods.
