In your opinion which 2 stratified systems have the most in common. Then discuss 2 systems you believe to be the least similar. (Stratified Systems are: Caste, Slavery, Class and Estate)
Stratified system:- refers to a society's categorization of its people into ranking of socioeconomic tiers based on factor like wealth, income, race, education and power. And stratified systems are:- Caste, Slavery, Class and Estate. y
Types are:-
Caste:- is a heredirary endogamous social group in which a person's rank and its accompanying rights and obligations are ascribed on the basis of his birth into a particular group. For example- Brahmins, Kshyatryas, Vaishyas and sudra caste,
Class:- Straification on the basis of class is dominant in modern society. In this a person's position depends to a very great extent upon achievement and his ability to use to advantage the inborn characteristics and wealth that he may possess.
Slavery:- Slavery had economic basis. In slavery, every slave had his master to whom he was subject.
Estate:- syetem of medieval europe provides another system of stratification which gave much emphasis to birth as well as to wealth and possessions. Each estate had a state.
Most common types are:- caste and class.
Least similar are:- Class and estate.
