identify what information you believe should be included in the legal health record of a small pediatric clinic. Specifically, I want you to comment on why or why not the following information should be included. Your discussions should include technological, legal, and financial issues involved with the data storage of each type of data. I would like you to include in your discussion where and in what form each piece of data would be stored. Feel free to include other forms of information that I have not mentioned here.
1. Developed x-rays
2. Text messages
3. Emails
4. Printed information that the patient may have brought in (e.g.
printouts from WebMD)
5. Photos of the patient's body (e.g. bruises, cuts, rashes,
etc.)
Medication errors often put small c hildren under greater risk .Inaddition to the above discussesd forms of information which needs to be included in the legal health record it is also necessary that a child immunization status be added to it.it helps in reventing unnecessary confusions during the treatment of the child.Apart from that some children have a long medical history .This should also be specifically included.Specialized growth charts has its own significance.it helps in identifying the factors which hinders the growth and aids in developing diseases related to it.Anthropometric assesssment is another information which need to be included in the legal health record
But the adult-oriented Health information technology systems may lack these paediatric data needs and functionalities ,which may have a negative effect on adoption of HIT and user satisfaction in paediatric care facility.Furthermore, evaluations of paediatric workflows from a human factors view point identified areas of great complexity with high stakes for adverse events that may benefit from information technology intervention.A base requirement of paediatric HIT functionality is the availabilityof accurate and appropriate paediatric specific data.
