Recently a group of temporary workers at Microsoft contractor Lionbridge signed their first union contract
More than 33 members, employed by Lionbridge technologies is Bellevue were laid off and asked to leave voluntarily and union members said they were told to reduced headcount and the reason less work coming from Microsoft.
Then Phillippe Boucher led the creation of TWA(temporary workers association ). TWA is not the first union of the temporary workers but The Washington Alliance of technology workers in 1998 is also class-action lawsuit of temporary workers seeing benefits from Microsoft and Microsoft had to pay $97 million dollars to the settle the case and that was the start of a revolution of the union in Microsoft

In January 2009 Microsoft announced it's large- scale layoffs in the 34 years of the company’s history cutting 1400 positions out of 5000 potential positions and cuts are expected to be completed by June and that’s not it Microsoft also announced that it is not the exact number Microsft can lay-off more than 5000 jobs due to the reason downfall of sales
It was the largest lay-off ever done by Microsoft and the economic downturn has taken a toll on Microsoft as it is getting weaker in the pc market is already disrupted by the competitors and sales of its software and operating system is continuously going below.
Last month, Microsoft reported reported that their quarterly sales fell for the first time in the history of 23 years as public company and profit also fall by 32% from the earlier year
