Do you believe Physician assisted suicide should be legal? Why or why not? For those who suffer from a mental illness do you think a physician assisted suicide should be legal? Back up your opinions properly.
A Thumbs Up! Would be really helpful for me. If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Yes, I believe that Physician-assisted suicide should be legal, because there are some circumstances where the death of such patients would be the best for everyone including themselves and their family. There are many diseases that have no cure, causing the patient to suffer all the time without any hope of getting back to normal, and live peacefully like they used to do. Even if there is a cure, it is very expensive, and treatment can last for years, even without the certainty of success. In the meantime, the patient might start seeing himself as a burden on their family. Since there is no security that the patient will be fine, he constantly suffers physically, mentally as well as financially. In such cases, if the physician suggests and the patient agrees with him, it should be legal for the patient to suicide in the assistance of a physician.
For those who suffer from a mental illness, I think physician-assisted suicide should be legal also, since due to the same reason, the treatment can be long, expensive, having the uncertainty of success, and the patient having mental illness might become a threat to the family as well as the society. If found suitable, and in Bonafide to everyone as well as the patient (since the patient is also mentally suffering all the time, and he might also want to to get rid of this everything), and without any malafide motive or any wrong intention towards the patient, the patient should be allowed to suicide with the assistance of the physician.
