An inpatient procedure is one that requires hospitalization, at least overnight. With an outpatient procedure, the patient returns home the same day. CATARACT Surgery is aprocedure to remove lens of eye because it became cloudy and in most cases ,replace it with artificial lens

It is performed by opthalmologist on an outpatient basis-does not require an overnight stay

patient usally come to out patient department[OPD]with compliants of blurry vision,and increase glare from lights

when cataract interferes with your activities of daily living docter may advice for surgical management

The hospital will fix a time for surgery,patient will get ID bracelet after check into the hospital, pre op preperations and vital signs checking will perform after admission

remove nail polish before surgery

remove makeup,hairclips

patient have to wear hospital gown before surgery

remove all dental appliance to aviod obstruction

insetion of intravenous line -to receive medications during procedure

docter will collect all medical and surgical history of the patient before fixing surgical management

a week before surgery docter may advice a painless ultrasound scan to assess right type of lense

DURING PROCEDURE

The clouded lens is removed and a clear artificial lens is usually implanted[ using an ultrasound probe to break up lens for removal]

AFTER THE PROCEDURE

After cataract surgery ,expect your vision to begin improving within a few days

docter may ask to wear an eye patch a day or two after the surgery .the docter also prescribe eye drops

The docter will inform about date of next OPD visit

IN PATIENT PROCEDURE

surgical procedure is performed with the expectation that the atient remains in the hospital for one or more nights

HYSTERECTOMY

patient may admit to the hospital via emergency department with compliants of bleeding abdominal pain,fatigue

docter will advice blood tests and ultasoundscan to confirm diagnosis

docter may advice ECG and CHEST xray to aviod cardio pulmonary complications during and after surgery

bowel preperation with colyte and clear fluid diet

operation site preperation will done before the surgey

patient will receive anesthetic consultation before surgery

patient have to stay in hospital after surgical management
