how could you integrate some CBT interventions that target triggers into both inpatient and outpatient treatment with substance abuse. The patient diagnoses include Alcohol Use Disorder, Opiate Use Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD).
CBT, which is cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of psychotherapy in which negative behavior patterns, beliefs, thoughts are focused and changed to find a solution for overwhelming feelings and problems. Now inpatients are those patients who stay in the hospital during the treatment process which outpatients are those who come to the hospital for don't stay rather leave after certain time of therapy as scheduled. Both inpatients and outpatients of substance abuse, including Alcohol Use Disorder, opiate use disorder and generalized anxity disorder can be treated using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions. CBT let's petaients become more aware of their feelings, motivations for drug use, and the consequences of their actions. Mostly it is found that the patients of drug abuse have a distorted perception of the world or themselves, they may dwell upon their negative thoughts they may believe in their negative emotions without judging If they are true or rational, they may overgeneralize the world and situations, etc. These can be treated by monitoring one's thoughts, feelings by CBT. It can help with the anxiety which comes as a result of withdrawal and help in training oneself to avoid the temptation of relapsing.
