eukaryote genomes.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Autonomous transposable elements can move on their own without any support or presence of another transposable elements. These are mobile genetic units that exhibit broad diversity in their structure and also in the transposition mechanisms. These transposable elements occupy a large fraction of many eukaryotic genomes and also their movement and accumulation represent a major force shaping the genomes of almost all organisms. This is a DNA sequence that can change its position within a genome and also sometimes creating or reversing mutations and altering the cell gene identity and genome size. Transposition sometimes results in duplication of the same genetic material. Autonomous transposable elements effects the evolution of eukaryotic genome by promoting recombination, disturbing the cellular genes or control the elements, and carrying genes or exons to new locations. So this is how the autonomous transposable elements can show their impact on the evolution and structure of eukaryotic genome.
