Evolution of IT infrastructure -

There are mainly five stages of evolution of IT infrastructure -

1.Mainframe Era - In 1965 the mainframe computer came into existence.Named as IBM360 Series.

2.Personal Computer Era - In 1980-1990 personal computers were launched with software tools like word processors,spreadsheets etc.

3.Client/Server Era - Clients are connected with servers means the laptops,computers called clients are connected with server desktops that are powerful servers.

4.Enterprise Computing Era - In 1995,buisness started using the TCP/IP protocol.

5.Cloud and Mobile Computing Era - This provdes access to the shared pool of computer resources.Because of more bandwidth power of internet cloud computing is possible.

This is about the Evolution of IT infrastructure.

Its impact on organizational performance -

1)Removed the time constraints.

2)Speed is increased of the work

3)Because of high speed organizations can respond quickly.
