How is the Reproductive System able to assist in maintaining Homeostasis.
Homeostasis is a state or process by which the physical, chemical and internal state of our body is maintained by reacting to the changes occuring in the surroundings.Like when we feel cold in winter our body shivers by itself to stablize our internal body temperature which can fell down due to low temperature of the surrounding. There also occurs many chemical changes during reproductive phase and our reproductive system maintains/stablises these changes for the better survival of gametes or the offspring. Like in male body after birth the testis descends down the abdomen so that the sperms are produced in their optimum temperature which is 2 - 2.5°C lower than the internal body temperature. Also, in female the vaginal pH is maintained to be acidic so that there occurs no bacterial or fungal infections. Our reproductive system doesn't maintain homeostasis by itself but it relies on other systems like endocrine, circulatory system to stablise or compensate the changes.
