Answer-
The process of photosynthesis occurs in two main types of reaction - light reaction and dark reaction.
In light reaction, the Clorophyll a alongwith its acessory pigments (carotenoids) absorbs light energy of visible spectrum and carry out breakdown of water to release oxygen and absorbs electrons. The electrons are further transferred to elctron acceptors of light reaction. light reaction leads to formation of NADPH.
NADPH carries these electrons for their use in calvin cycle.
