Why should smoke alarms be routinely checked?

*Smoke alarms make a warning" beep" or "chirp" when there is a
fault or when the battery needs replacing.
-Disconnected power supply,missing batteries,dead batteries and
improperly installed batteries are the most common reasons for
smoke alarm failure during a fire emergency.
-On AC powered smoke alarms,the "power on"indicator on the smoke
alarm should be checked regularly to ensure operability.
* A procedure sets out the steps to be followed for work
activites,which inclludes-
-resolving work health and safety issues
-consulting with workers on work health and safety
-monitoring workers health and workplace conditions
-providing information and training
*Policies and procedures provides clarity to the reader when dealing with accountability issues or activities that are critical importance to the company such as health,legal liabilities ,regulatory requirements or issues that have serious consequences.
