The current healthcare system may exhibit the characteristics of living in the in between. Assuming this is true, discuss three reasons why healthcare organizations should be concerned about the spiritual health of its employees.
Healthcare organizations should be concerned about the spiritual health of the employees as it is beneficial to both the organization and the employees. From a broader perspective, an understanding of spirituality, i.e., good spiritual health is needed for a good ethical foundation on which healthcare organizations can be build up and can flourish. The spiritual health of employees is like a fountain from which the clients can drink or absorb positivity to attain the ultimate goal of perfect health. This contributes immensely to the practice of medical ethics in the right proportion. The organizations have been seen to imbibe from the spiritual health of its employees to reach their ultimate goal of perfect health for the clients. Another important goal of healthcare organizations, the satisfaction of employees, can be achieved only with the help of spiritual health together with physical and mental health. Like any other business organization, investment in the form of money and human resource needs profit from the investment to function as a successful business model without which it will be a failure and will perish. The characteristics of living in the in-between, which are exhibited by these organizations make them move towards the goal. Thus the spiritual health of the employees becomes a concern of significance from which the organization, the client, and the employee can benefit.
