You are the manager of a luxury boutique hotel. You are presented the following facts:
Johnny Rose was a guest at the Creek Motel which was famous for it’s Sunday brunch. After filling his plate with mountains of eggs and French toast, Johnny turned to return to his table and so excited at the prospect of eating, tripped over the dessert cart. The dessert cart was located at the end of the buffet line, right next to the three-meat buffet. The dessert cart was fixed in place in line with all the other buffet tables. No other guest tripped over the dessert cart. Johnny fell and broke his arm and has $25,000 in medical bills. Johnny sues the hotel for negligence. Will he be successful?

Boutique hotels are smaller independent non-branded hotels that often contain mid-scale to upscale facilities of varying size in unique or intimate settings with full-service accommodations. These hotels are generally 100 rooms or fewer. Boutique hotels prosper when they are tailored to their location. Oftentimes, they're able to mold their décor and overall aesthetic to the community in which they operate. This not only creates a unique accommodation, but it also creates a destination within a destination.

Hotel operations vary in size, function, complexity, and cost. Most hotels and major hospitality companies have set industry standards to classify hotel types. An upscale full-service hotel facility offers luxury amenities, full-service accommodations, an on-site restaurant, and the highest level of personalized service, such as a concierge, room service, and clothes pressing staff. Full-service hotels often contain upscale full-service facilities with many full-service accommodations, an on-site full-service restaurant, and a variety of on-site amenities. Boutique hotels are smaller independent, non-branded hotels that often contain upscale facilities. Small to medium-sized hotel establishments offer a limited amount of on-site amenities. Economy hotels are small to medium-sized hotel establishments that offer basic accommodations with little to no services. Extended stay hotels are small to medium-sized hotels that offer longer-term full-service accommodations compared to a traditional hotel.

Gastronomy - Like everything else about boutique hotels, their restaurants and bars tend to be hip, trendy and locally-sourced. High quality, authentic cuisine, and comfortable cocktail atmospheres make these dining and drinking spots popular with locals as well as guests.

Clientele - The types of travelers who are attracted to boutique hotels are as individual as the hotels themselves and tend to be just as hip. Guests from Millennials to Boomers who enjoy creative design, quirky character, and luxurious service will be right at home in boutique hotels.
