PLEASE SHOW ALL WORK
When a salt is dissolved in water, the acidic, basic or neutral
nature of solution depends on the nature of the salt.
The salt of strong acid with strong base on dissolution in water
gives neutral solution as it does not undergo hydrolysis.
Salt of weak acid with strong base on dissolution in water gives
basic solution as on hydrolysis, the acid obtained is dissociated
to small extent and the base obtained is completely
dissociated.
Salt of weak base with strong acid on dissolution in water gives
acidic solution as on hydrolysis, the base obtained is dissociated
to small extent and the acid obtained is completely
dissociated.
NaCl Neutral Salt of strong acid and strong base
NaOBr Basic Salt of weak acid and strong base
C2H5NH3NO3 Acidic Salt of weak base and strong acid
LiHSO3 Neutral Salt of strong acid and strong base
NH4ClO2 Acidic Salt of weak base and strong acid
FeCl3 Acidic Salt of weak base and strong acid
K2CO3 Basic Salt of weak acid and strong base
