Pathophysiology and Concept map of TAHBSO
Total abdominal hysterectomy bilateral salpingo oophorectomy (TAHBSO) is the removal of entire uterus, the ovaries, fallopian tubes and the cervix. TAHBSO is usually performed in the case of uterine and cervical cancer. This is the most common kind of hysterectomy.
# Nursing Care Plan & Management :-
Nursing goal for patients who are to undergo Hysterectomy or TAHBSO includes prevention or minimization of complications, the prognosis and treatment regimen is well understood, and management of pain.
# Assessment :Health perception -Health management plan :-
Patient feel week since she just has operation,patient does not know the exact cause of her illness ,patient consulted a doctor after heavy blood fall.Assess the emotional stress the patient is experiencing. Identify the meaning of loss for patient and SO. Encourage patient to vent feelings appropriately.
# Nursing Interventions :-
Provide time to listen to concerns and fears of patient and SO. Discuss patient’s perceptions of self-related to anticipated changes and her specific lifestyle.The nurse and all support staff will perform hand hygiene before and after patient contact.
When the ovaries are also removed, estrogen levels will fall. This removes the protective effects of estrogen on the cardiovascular and skeletal system.
# Nursing Diagnosis:
Risk for infection related to surgical intervention and presents of foley catheter as evidence by patient post-opt day 1 from abdominal total hysterectomy and essential foley catheter present.
Pelvic ultrasound may be appropriate, depending on what the physician.
