HTN is the increased blood pressure. Hypertension can be mainly classified as four stages.
1. Normal hypertension: it is the normal stage. In which systolic BP wollybe less tnan 120 and diastywill be less than 80 mmHg,
Usually no treatment is required for this.
Teaching include ask the patient to monitor the blood pressure to ensure its within normal limits.
2. Prehypertension: here systolic will be between 120&139 mmHg or diastolic between 80&89 mmHg,
People in this stage are High risk for developing hypertension. So teaching of patient include lifestyle changes to prevent developing from hypertension.
Life style changes include exercise, body weight control, eating fruit and vegetables and low fat diary products
3.Stage 1: systolic between 140&159mmhg or diastolic between 90&99 mmHg.
Teaching include life style changes, advice to consult doctor to start medication to control blood pressure and also to prevent heart diseases.
Stage 2: in this systolic 160 mmHg or higher and diastolic 100 mmHg or higher.
In this stage medical treatment must be started with antihypertensive medicines.
Teaching include monitoring blood pressure regularly and follow doctors advice strictly.
Educate the patient to avoid excess salt, pickle, canned soups and all to maintain blood pressure within the limits
