Discuss the four evolving company orientations. Which orientation is considered most successful and why?
Business owners need faces many challenges from day to day life and have to make major decisions and many strategies are make to get success and the way company applies its strategies for success is known as Business orientation and typically there are four types of different business orientation which include production, product, marketing and sales orientation. These four types and Strategies helps to define any company. Let us discuss these all four evolving company orientations-:
1)Production Orientation-In this the managers of the business have to focus mainly on the production, manufacturing part of the company. The managers here aim to make products price cheap and having high quality as if company reduces the cost of the selling product somehow and sells in the market with the same quality will help company to achieve high profits by beating all competitors. The company tries to get raw materials at cheap price by increasing the quantity of materials or contact different suppliers. All these type of strategies come under influence of Production Orientation.
2)Product orientation-This aims to creativity in the products and innovation. The main task in this is to upgrade current selling products to better and adding more features to the product.Example,Car company will try to add more features in the car and enhance it design and build quality. This allows companies to stay ahead of competition from other companies.
Mainly strategies falling under this involve customer satisfaction, new needs of customers and by solving all needs of its consumers it helps to develop relation with customers and help achieve goodwill in the market.
3)Marketing Orientation-This aims to marketing of its products and services and their task it to come up with new marketing ideas every time and leaders should use their creativity skills to get attention of the customers to their products and leaders also make sure to where should marketing be done,to get its new customers in the specific areas. In example as no one need to get insurance daily but they do marketing by wall clocks, notebooks and various places to remind you that when you get need of insurance you will have the name of insurer company in your mind.
4)Sales Orientation-The aim of it is all about generating cash flow to the company and the main goal is to build market share and don't see any other strategies as This only focus on consumers turnover not on the need of the customers. This orientation has to be done to create awareness among the clients and getting new customers from competitors.Ex-Amazon was a cheap place to get books and once strategy got successful and made very high market share it changed itself into other sales of products to get profits.
For me,marketing orientation is the best among all to prioritise to get successful as how good is the product does not matter if the marketing is not good.Marketing has to be done effectively to get new clients every time for the company.
