Three stages in moral and ethical development of an individual will be-

A. Preconventional stage- at the preconventional stage, and individual does not have his own set of morals and he will be very young and he will be following the standards and morals which has been set by his elders and he will be binding by them.

B. Conventional stage-at this stage the individual will be internalising the moral values and he will be starting to develop a set of morals based upon the group he is belonging to.he will be trying to develop good interpersonal relationship and maintenance of social ethics as well

C postconventional stage-at this stage the individual will be developing his own set of moral and ethical standards and he will be abiding with them because he has developed self chosen principles and reasoning will be based upon individual rights and justice.only a few individuals are able to achieve post conventional stage of moral development.
