Provide an example of an ethical or unethical business today and why you believe it is ethical or unethical.

Solutions

Expert Solution

Ethical business:

Example: establishing so many old age homes in the world

This is ethical, since it serves the purpose of the society. Old aged people are very lonely and helpless these days, since they are ill-treated by their families. Since they are old they become dependent. Old age homes serve their purpose and this is why it becomes ethical. Although there is profit motive approach but still it is indispensible.

Unethical business:

Example: so many fake advertisements for products

This is unethical, since it effects on rational thinking of consumers. People believe what they see on television or in other media. Example: in an energy drink advertisement it is shown that by drinking energy drink a person becomes so charged up that he is the source of power, like electricity. This type of claiming is totally fake and therefore unethical.
