The communication process refers to a series of actions or steps taken in order to successfully communicate. It involves several components such as the sender of the communication, the actual message being sent, the encoding of the message, the receiver and the decoding of the message. There are also various channels of communication to consider within the communication process.

Parts of the communication process -

The communication process has several components that enable the transmission of a message. Here are the various parts:

  1. Sender: This is the person that is delivering a message to a recipient.
  2. Message: This refers to the information that the sender is relaying to the receiver.
  3. Channel of communication: This is the transmission or method of delivering the message.
  4. Decoding: This is the interpretation of the message. Decoding is performed by the receiver.
  5. Receiver: The receiver is the person who is getting or receiving the message.
  6. Feedback: In some instances, the receiver might have feedback or a response for the sender. This starts an interaction.

(1). As a sender , once I develops an idea, I will translate it into a form that can be transmitted to someone else. This means I will transform the thoughts of the information I want to send into a certain format. For example, suppose I want to convey the message verbally to the receiver then I have to think about the subject matter of my talk . The message can also be nonverbal, wrotten or symbolic.

(2). Next, i have take decision on how the message will be sent. This involves selecting the most suitable medium for the message I am relaying. Some communication mediums include speaking, writing, electronic transmission or nonverbal communication. If I want to convey the message verbally to receiver , then I can telephone to send message to receiver.

(3). The receiver then decodes my message. In other words, they interpret it and convert it into a thought. After they've done this, they analyze the message and attempt to understand it. The communication process is performed effectively when the sender and receiver have the same meaning for the transmitted message.

(4). Communication noise refers to influences on effective communication that influence the interpretation of conversations. Physical noise is any external or environmental stimulus that distracts us from receiving the intended message sent by a communicator .Examples of physical noise include: others talking in the background, background music, a startling noise and acknowledging someone outside of the conversation.

(5). Excellent verbal communication is a key to maintaining successful business relationships. Effective communication causes productivity to increase, errors to decrease and operations to run smoother. Good verbal communication at the workplace is critical to the companies with a workforce from a diverse background. We use verbal communication to define everything from ideas, emotions, experiences, thoughts, objects, and people (Blumer).

(6). All of our nonverbal behaviors—the gestures we make, our posture, our tone of voice, how much eye contact we make—send strong messages. They can put people at ease, build trust, and draw others towards me, or they can offend, confuse, and undermine what we're trying to convey. Nonverbal communication plays a significant role in our lives, as it can improve a person's ability to relate, engage, and establish meaningful interactions in everyday life. A better understanding of this type of communication may lead people to develop stronger relationships with others.

(7). No , there was not any miscommunication in between me and receiver. If it had been so I would try to convey message to receiver through other method.

(8). The only barrier which I faced during communicating my message to receiver is physical barrier. Physical barriers can be removed by using high quality technology. I used video calling which helps me to communicate my message without any barrier.
