Yes, being an individual and being a frequent user of all the mentioned social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc I personally think that social network platform companies should monitor, control as well censor hate speech. This is because of the issues mentioned below :

Though most of the companies are private so it's totally up to them whether they want to do it or not, but when a huge number of people are following social media it's somehow become difficult to satisfy everyone's need. A post or a speech may seem absolutely normal to one person but other may find that offensive and hence the reason of hate, but these are the day to day thing and we really can't take these as hate speech or something. But when it came to a society, when it comes to a larger group of people and they find that out offensive then it's something to look upon. As these sites should monitor that kind of content as Facebook , Twitter, etc are not only used by adults but it includes teenagers as well. So if they will read those kind of posts they will learn that only and also in the present situation where we need to provide proper education to children so that they can be the future of our nation it's necessary to spread the right content only.

For example :

Suppose someone tweets something that will involve political debate, then I personally don't find it offensive or any bad thing for anyone as basically it will reach some sort of solution and also helps people of all ages to know better what's happening in our nation. But on the other hand, if someone starts including slangs in that then it's something to be monitored.

At last from my perspective, I think to monitor, control and censor the hate speech is for the better ,so social media companies should distinguish between what kind of topic is that , what kind of solution it is presenting , whether people are just discussing or they are giving slang and work accordingly.
