How are tissues used in the body to create specific body compartments and why is this necessary?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Tissue is a group of cells or fluid that work together to perform specific job in the body like cells in an organ like kidney or heart or blood cells that carry oxygen to and waste materials from cells in the body.

Although there are many types of cells in the human body, they are categoriesd into four types of tissues : epithelial, connective, muscle, nervous. Each of these categories characterised by specific functions that contribute to overall health and maintainence of the body. Cells combine to form tissues, tissues combine to form organs, tissues 4 types by using these 4 different types of tissues to create organs.

Epithelial tissue: also referred to as epithelium , refers to sheets of cells that cover exterior surface of the body, lines internal cavities and passageways and forms certain glands. Used for protection, lining ,shape ex: skin

connective tissue :as its name implies, binds the cells and organs of the body together and functions in the protection, support and integration of all parts of the body. Used for support

Muscle tissue : is excitable responding to stimulation and contracting to provide movement and occurs as major three types skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, cardiac muscle in the heart. Used for movement

Nervous tissue: is also excitable allowing propagation of electrochemical signals in the form of nerve impulses that communicate different regions of the body.used for control.

In these 4 categories they have different types of subcategories these tissues form an organ.

The next level organisation is the organ, where several types of tissues come together to form a working unit. Just as knowing the structure and function of cells that help you in studying of tissues, knowledge of tissues will help you how organs Function.

Tissue is necessary because without tissue organ is not create, and also need to proper function of organ. Even small injury or damage or infection occur it leads to disease, tissue is not functioning properly the organ not functioning it leads problem. For creation, function , maintainence Of organ compartments everything tissue is necessary.
