epithelial, connective and muscle tissue.

Compare all tissues and contrast the two specific tissues in terms of how their form fits their function.

Solutions

Expert Solution

ANSWER: Epithelial Tissue: Epithelial tissue is also called a epithelium. Its features are different and It has different types . Description of Epithelial tissue is mentioned below--------

a)Features: High Cellularity, Special sensory receptor , Forms a barrier,Avascular,Innervated

b)Structures or surfaces : Basal (Hemidesmosomes, Basement Membrane), Apical (Lumen, Microvilli, Cilia, Stereocilia), Llateral (Adhering Junctions, tight junctions, desmosomes, gap junctions)

c)Types: squamous, cuboidal, columnar, simple, stratified, pseudostratified, specialized

Connective Tissue: It is also called connector. It has also different types and structures.Description of Connective  tissue is mentioned below---

a)Features: elastic, collagen, reticular

b)Structures: cells (structural, immunological, defense, energy reservoirs), extracellular matrix (ground substance, protein fibers)

c)Types: proper (dense, loose), embryonic (mesenchyme, mucous), specialized (cartilage, adipose, bone, blood)

Muscle Tissue : Muscle tissue forms that most of body parts as it forms the muscles and controls the movement of the body. Description of the muscle tissue -

a)Features: elastic, extensible, contractile

b)Structures: Muscles present at different location of the body.

c)Types : skeletal, cardiac (gap junctions, intercalated discs), smooth, striated, nonstriated

Epithelial Tissue: Epithelial tissue covers the body surface and structures the coating for most inward cavities. The significant function of epithelial tissue incorporates protection, secretion, absorption,, and filtration. The skin is an organ comprised of epithelial tissue which shields the body from dirt, dust, and different microorganisms that might be harmful. Cells of the epithelial tissue have various shapes . Cells can be slender, flat to cubic to elongated.

Connective Tissue: Connective tissue is the most inexhaustible and the most generally disseminated of the tissues. Connective tissues play out an assortment of functions including support and protection. The Connective tissues that are found in the human body are ordinary loose connective tissue, fat tissue, dense fibrous tissue, cartilage, bone, blood, and lymph.

Muscle Tissue : Muscle is responsible to stimulation and contracting to provide movement i.e these tissues control the body movement and responsible for balancing of the body.

Choose any one plant tissue. Compare and contrast that tissue to animal epithelial tissue. The answer should include the makeup of each, considering structure, function, and interactions (or lack of interactions) between cells; it should also address how different organisms can build different tissue to address similar issues, so choose the tissue carefully.
