My area of interest of topic is Assessing the nurse's knowledge and practice in intravenous therapy.Common variables to assess are drop factor and setting proper drops per minute,complications. The reason I am choosing this topic is because nurses not concentrating in the drops per minute they simply assume and set the flow.Our literature for nurses simply calculation to find drop factor is present but their importance are lacking in nurses knowledge. Nurses only concentrating in the order and perform it without any proper skill. It cause a problem especially in pediatrics.Nurses lack knowledge in complications of IV fluid overload.During disconnecting many of them make end of the IV set unclean by dropping it down or simply make it hang in air openly.Many of them administer medications continuously without giving NS in between each drug.They consider it as waste of time but it is actually due to lack of knowledge. All this are the lack in our literature for nurses.Can do the experimental study like giving induction class to one group and teach about variables such as importance of drop factor and setting correct drops per minute, complications,medication administration via IV line and disconnecting. After class can assess the knowledge of nurses between teams and find a result
