Before writing his paper, Sheldon asks himself the following
questions: Who are my readers? What are their expectations? Where
will they be reading my paper? When will they be reading? How will
they be reading it – on paper or on a screen? What is Sheldon
figuring out for his paper?
1- an extended reader profile
2- a brief reader profile
3- a hierarchy of needs
4- a reader analysis worksheet
Sheldon is figuring out a brief reader profile for his paper.
First of all he uses the five W's and how in the reader profile which is the basic method of making a brief reader profile. Secondly, he is not trying to find out the needs, values and attitudes of the reader which eliminates the chances of an extended reader profile. A hierarchy of needs is made for understanding the specific need of the readers with a pyramid form. Lastly, Sheldon has not taken any sheet of paper and making a table mentioning the "Types of Readers," "Needs," "Values," and "Attitudes" as the headings and categorise the importance of the readers on the lower side. Hence he is not making a reader analysis worksheet.
