Expert Solution

ID NOW COVID-19 is a rapid test that gives the result over 13 minutes or less, here the nucleic acid is amplified for the qualitative detection and diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 by taking the sample from nasal, nasopharyngeal and throat swabs.

In the result we could identify the SARS-CoV-2 RNA. The detection of SARS-CoV-2RNA doesnt mean that the client is positive but it shows the presence of RNA and we need to corelate with clinical signs and symptoms.
Negative results should be treated as presumptive and further testing should be considered based of patient signs and symptoms.

PRINCIPLE OF PROCEDURE

It contains

Sample Receiver,

containing lysis buffer,

a Test Base, comprising two sealed reaction tubes, each containing a lyophilized pellet,

a Transfer Cartridge for transfer of the lysised sample to the Test Base,

The reaction tubes in the Test Base contain the reagents required for amplification of SARS-CoV-2, RNA. The RNA templates designed to target SARS-CoV-2 RNA amplify a unique region of the RdRp segment.
Fluorescently-labeled molecular beacons are used to specifically identify each of the amplified RNA targets.
For the test to be conducted the Sample Receiver and Test Base are inserted into the ID NOW Instrument. The sample is added to the Sample Receiver and transferred via the Transfer Cartridge to the Test Base, initiating target amplification. Heating, mixing and detection are provided by the instrument.

Once the RNA strand is visible its a positive sign of SARS COV 2 and must consider with the clinical signs and symptoms and even the negative sign is not exculuded and its considered as presumptive and the patient should be on isolation if he hav clincal symptoms.

A health research company was engaged to test the accuracy of COVID-19 test kits used in Queensland. A sample of 50 test kits was analysed to see whether they gave the correct test result. An interval estimate of 0.46 to 0.70 was found for the population proportion of test kits which gives the correct test result. What is the level of confidence used for this test? (Answer as a percentage to two decimal places. Do not include the % symbol).

Suppose that Canada is now in a recession triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, with unemploy- ment and an output gap. We now analyze this situation using a New Keynesian sticky price model that we learned in Chapter 14. In particular, the labor market and the goods market do not have to clear in the New Keynesian model. Assume that there is a test for a person having antibodies for COVID-19 disease. Let A denote a test result that shows that a person has antibodies for COVID-19 disease. Let B denote that a person truly has antibodies for COVID-19. Such a person is thought to be immune to again contracting and spreading COVID-19 because that person already had the disease. Assume that the sensitivity of a test for antibodies is .938 and that the specificity of the test...
