The demand for health care is characterized by the level of actual consumption of an individual incase of facing illness/injury this consumption could differ in accordance withh demand factors such as income ,cost ,and the quality and apropriateness of the service provided. and non-monetary factors like such as time price are expected to assume an increasingly imprtant role in influencing the demand for health care as the out of pocket price falls.
Income- Higher income families tend to have higher actual use of health servicces because they are able to afford the cost ,But since they can sldo afford preventive care they are able to reduce their needs for health care services
Price- Price has negative effect on the demand for health care. Although total demand for health care was foound in several several studdies to be not so responding to price changes selection of the source of health care service was observed to be influenced by the price factor.
Non monetary factors-demands become relatively more sensitive to change in time price. moreover demand for free health services is expected to be more responsive to change in time proce than non free services because time shares a greater of the total price when availing of free facilities compared to non free fecilities
