What are the 6 stages in the selling process? What role does each stage play? Which stage do you believe is most important? Why?
Selling is ultimately the transaction of goods and services to gain financial benefits, selling contentious practices to transfer of ownership of goods and services from owner to customer. Selling is a never-ending process and selling frequently occurring in our hour day to day life.
These are the following six-stage of the selling process as below -
1) Lead generation - Selling never possible without leads and lead generation gate pass of our selling process. Leader generation is the foundation of selling and lead generation plays a crucial role in completing the selling process. Lead generation is creating a roadmap of the selling process and building a potential database.
2) Cold calling or initial approach - Cold calling is performed with the help of lead generation and cold calling create a database of lead, and gathering information about customers and their requirements that help in offering price. The role of cold calling is essential because it creates a list of prospective customers who have a true requirement of products and services.
3) Meeting and presentation with prospective customers- After filtering database and contacting through email or telephonic discussion. Presentation of products and understanding the need for products to customers is an essential process in a sales deal. Meeting and presentation role is important to understand the requirement customers and understanding the value can be matured from the prospective customers.
4) Offering price to prospective customers- Through the meeting and presentation of products in front of customers and taking the feedback or inquiry from customers, and offering the best rate as per requirements is a critical role of the sales process, and sales never possible to mature without offering rates to customers.
5) Price negotiation and payment terms- Price negotiation is possible after offering price to prospective customers through email and phone calls and price negotiation is playing a vital role in the sales process.
6) Closing the sales - Closing the sales deal is the final process of the sales process and it is done after receiving supply order and payment as per the terms.
As per my views meeting and presentation with prospective customers is the essential process of sales deal because it is the backbone of the sales process and the actual requirement and potential of customers can be analyzed through this process. All the processes perform as per the history of meetings and presentations with prospective customers.
