Answer - General management of pneumonia as following -

- Assess and diagnose as early as causative agents of pneumonia and provide antibiotics as prescribed by physician.

- Monitor respiratory pattern, labored breathing, cynosis, cool clamy skin.

- Monitor pulse oxymeter.

- Monitor sputum colour, consistency, amount.

- Administer oxygen therapy as prescribed by physician.

- Provide semifowler position which is easy for patients respiration.

- Try to encourage the patient for doing breathing exercises, use of incentive spirometer, which improves breathing patterns.

- Also provides chest physiotherapy exercises.

- Doing suction if according to need and it removing respiratory secretion.

- Administer iv fluid as prescribed by physician, iv fluid improve hydration and make respiratory secretion thin .

- Administer antipyretic, bronchodilator, cough suppresents, mucolytic agents, expectorants as prescribed by physician.

- Provide the patient high calories, high protein diet which is small in amount.

- Provide proper rest to patients which decrease respiratory load, and improve breathing patterns.

- Always maintain proper heigine, hand washing.

- Instruct the patient to contact health care provider if any complications related to disease condition.

- Educate the follow up for immunizations scheules.
