Select two culturally distinct countries and discuss how status-seeking consumer behavior differs between these countries. Explain which cultural orientations in these countries give rise to these differences and why.
The two different countries are X and Y
X : The status seeking consumer will buy a good or service even when he can't afford by taking credit from some one and show off that he is having that good or service. In here that person sometimes may not be even in a position to afford that good or a service. But still he tries to afford those because he wanted to showoff to the society and people around him that he is having a higher status than them.
Y: In country Y the people who are status seeking customer will buy what ever comes in the market and show off that they bought the first good or a service which no one had. It is like they just try to say that they have money and can get anything.
In these two countries the overall outcome is same they want to show off but the way they do is different because of the cultural barrier they have.
In Country Y people are more independent so no one cares if you buy something or not. But you will get attention when you buy the same day when it releases
In Country X people are having a poor economic life so if you buy anything costly they will see it as an achievement.
