Covid 19 has adversely affected the whole world both developed and poor and developing nations. Every country is taking concrete steps in fighting this deadly virus. However some basic differences in the strategies adopted by developing and developed countries can be noted.

  • On basis of Medical Health Facilities Developed countries like US, UK, Germany, Itlay, Spain has advanced medical facilities in terms of ventilators, masks, number of hospitals and testing kits and doctors and nurses . So, these countries are confident in controlling this epedemic with this advance medical facilities. On the other hand developing nations like India, Pakistan ,African nations have less medical facilities and less funds. So these countries particularly India is trying best to control virus by concentrating more on strict lockdowns, curfews and social distancing etc. As these countries know it will difficult for them to control the spread of virus in terms of advance healthcare. The testing kits available in India per person is very low as compared to developed nations. The total number of people tested in India is very low, as it has large population compared to other European nations.
  • Quarentine Homes The nations like Itlay, germany, Spain has less population. So they are able to build large number of isolation homes with good facilities as compared to India and other developing nations.
  • Economic Packages. The U.S. House of Representatives on Friday approved a $2.2 trillion (1.77 trillion euro) aid package - the largest in history - to help cope with the economic downturn inflicted by the intensifying coronavirus pandemic. Even Canadian government is also providing various monetary benefits to people in terms of cash, unemployment benefits whereas developing nations fail to provide such benefits to people due to shortage of funds.
  • Hardships suffered by citizens. Due to lockdowns people of developing and poor nations are affected more. Recently In india many workers have to walk on feet to their hometowns due to absence of public transport. In developed nations proper care is been taken for the facilities of citizens in terms of food , milk and supply of other items. In Itlay well packed food items are being supplied to homes by the government.
  • Financial Aid by World Organizations Developing nations are more dependent on financial assistance provided by world organizations like United Nations. It launched a $2 billion global humanitarian response plan to fund the fight against COVID-19 in the world’s poorest countries. Even rich people in developing countries like India are donating money to fight the virus.

To conclude developed nations apart from taking precautionar measures are spending huge funds to fight Covid 19. On the other hand poor are developing nations are concentrating more on safety measures like washing hands, social distancing, strict lockdowns and curfews to prevent the spread of disease.
