Applying 'ADPIE 'to patient care
An acronym used to describe five phases of nursing care, which to become proffessional and effective in care.
This method is used to identify the physiological, psychological and emotional state of a patient. This can be obtained by interviewing and taking the vital signs. This will reveal the Health problems and can move to the next phase.
From the information gathered from assesment we will make a diagnosis, which means from the symptoms we will get the causes or problems. This diagnosis is not a specific disease, but can assume the disease or cause will be a particular problem.
Once we diagnosis there will be a planning for the traetment and outcome of the treatment. The Planning steps include the interventions and final recovery of the patient.
when we are applying what we planned for the particular patient /disease.The patient follows the plan for a recovery. The nurse will ensure the treatment is in a proper way.If not replan the treatment.
Once the treatment completed,we have to evaluate the patient and identify whether it worked as expected.
Identify any problems or deviations that can be corrected .
Generally we can say that the five phases are for the benefit of patients, that the nurse can do at the time of admission.
