What role does race/ethnicity play in “nation-building or nation-destroying”?
Race can be referred to physical differences that a group or cultuer think of them that they are socially significant and ethnicity refers to shared culture or tradition such as language , ancestry , practices or rituals , beliefs. But race and ethnicity both plays a very vital role in nation building. These are the aspects of our identity which inform us that how we see ourselves and the world and how we connects with them. As we all know immigrants create more diverse nation , communities built around racial and ethnic identity can be source of resilience and and a feeling of connectedness for arrivals who might feel isolated. With the help of race and ethnic identity we can build a very sustainable and prosperous nation , and its a proven fact that many people who embrace racial and ethnic diversity ,developing tolerance and respect for human difference like India and minority communities in US and elsewhere continue to suffer from inequality, injustice and exclusions at the hands of majority . There can be political , economical and psychological implications of this descrimination and marginalisation like societal rejection, fewer jobs , unfair treatment , injustice and many more adverse effects. So to make a sustainable nation like India it is important that people embrace racial and ethnic diversity.
