What role does Helper T cells play in the activation of the B lymphocytes?
when a helper T cell becomes activated it will secret cytokines as well as express CD40 ligand on their surface. Further B cells becomes activated by cytokines produced by T-helper cell. Cyotokines helps B cell to further proliferate and start isotype switching. On the other hand CD40 ligand of T-helper cell will bind with CD40 of the B cell and activates it.
