What is a biochemical pathway? What role does DNA play in biochemical pathways and how is this role carried out?
What is a biochemical pathway= A biochemical pathway is the series of sequence of reactions that are catalyzed by specific enzymes and the product of one reaction is used as a substrate in the next reaction.
DNA play in biochemical pathways and this role carried out as follows :
The genetic information is stored in the form of genes in the DNA.The base pairing that is adenine pairs with thymine and cytosine pairs with guanine in DNA ,and formation of double stranded structure of DNA takes place.
DNA is replicated into RNA by a process called as transcription.in this process different types of enzymes are involved.DNA replication is biochemical pathway which involves the sequence of reactions .DNA polymerase is the main type of enzyme that catalyzes the formation of RNA from DNA.
RNA is converted into protein by a process called as translation.3 different types of RNAs are involved that are mRNA,tRNA and rRNA.
in this way DNA plays a role in biochemical pathways.
