1. To find the critical path you need to find the shortest duration to complete the project by minimising cost and also to find the4 places where we need to spend less resources which can be used in other places.
2. The non-critical task have slack (float) numbers which tells you the number of days the task will slip for which we can remove the resources from the slack to put in the critical path tasks to shorten the project duration.
3. The non-critical path has some amount of float time and if it is delayed then it will not affect the project duration but it it is completed in half the time then the total cost for the activity will decrease and the critical path will be reduced by assigning the manpower from the non-critical path to critical path.
