A possible career in finance would be the role of a financial analyst which requires a BS or a MS qualification in finance or math. The average salary for such a job would be around $ 70,000 per annum and the job would entail analyzing financial performance of companies, benchmarking their performance and recommending stocks for investment by retail investors and institutional investors.
A certification such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) may help in getting more credentials to do full justice to the role of financial analysis. The basic skills required for doing this role is having good quantitative and math skills. He or she should be proficient in using spreadsheet software and other data analytic tools to conduct advanced analytics and also do trend analysis which are fundamental to technical analysis of stocks. In addition to above, a good business acumen with good writing and presentation skills are required for showcasing the results in an impressive manner.
