How is the level of cholesterol in the blood stream controlled? Describe and explain how two metabolic defects in humans that could produce an elevated blood cholesterol level. (4 points)
Ans- two metabolic defect in human that elevated blood cholesterol levels are
1) Hypercholesterolemia
This condition occur when excess cholesterol in blood stream is deposited on the inner walls of blood vessels, pattiparticu the arteries which supply blood to heart . High cholesterol form plaques that narrows and harden artery walls.
2) Hyperlipidemia
It is caused by having too much LDL cholesterol in your blood and not enough HDL cholesterol to clear it up. Although high cholesterol can be inherited, it's more often result of unhealthy lifestyle choices.
