secondary care refers to services provided by
health care specialists to patients following a referral from a
primary care provider..secondary care is where most people end up
when they have a medical condition to deal with which primary care
provider can not be handled..
For example:
1, If you go for fever treatment to primary care physician, when he
do some blood investigation if it is related to particular
infection then primary care provider will refer you to specialist
for futher evaluation called secondary care..
2, when a patient having breathing difficulty and going to the
primary care provider,he may evaluate the patient if there is any
associated cardiac problem he will refer to cardiologist and
pulmonalogist for further special treatment which primary care
physician can not do that..
3, When patient having abdominal pain with vomiting primary care
physician initial treatment not working for the patient..Primary
care physician will refer the patient to gastroenterologist for
futher evaluation..
